With the current situation regarding the continuing spread of COVID19 (Coronavirus) through many countries around the world, airlines and cruise companies have been drastically reducing services to multiple destinations, even to countries not yet affected by the virus.

As a result, many of our clients who are already booked to depart or who are already overseas on holidays are experiencing travel disruptions resulting in a huge workload being imposed on both Richard and Felicity to try to re-accommodate clients onto other flights/cruises.

Due to the urgency requiring us to attend to current bookings, our response time to many of your emails or phone calls for booking requests can and are being compromised.

We would ask for your co-operation over this period and ask the following;

  • If you are booked to travel beyond April, please keep calm and take a deep breath. 😊 There is absolutely no rush to make a decision to cancel your holiday, at this point in time we are trying our best to assist people departing or who have already departed this month and next.
  • Presently (as at 12 March 2020), only Mainland China & Iran and parts of Italy, have a ‘DO NOT TRAVEL’ restrictions placed on them, Italy & the Republic of Korea has been raised to ‘RECONSIDER YOUR NEED TO TRAVEL’, although the Italian Prime Minister has closed the borders to Italy. Japan & Mongolia has been raised to ‘EXERCISE A HIGH DEGREE OF CAUTION’. If your travel plans include any of these destinations there may be airline/tour company schedule changes, amendments or cancellations already in place. Please be aware that as the situation is unprecedented and very fluid, restrictions may be added to other countries. At this point in time the spread of the Virus in mainland China is apparently reducing daily and restrictions for travel to this country may be lifted at any time.
  • If your travel is of purely domestic nature, there are absolutely no restrictions on travelling anywhere within Australia.
  • Please be aware that if you decide to cancel your holiday, you may still face cancellation and/or amendment fees. Airfares that were purchased which were NON-REFUNDABLE at the time of purchase, remain non-refundable. The only exception to this may be for a country that is declared a ‘DO NOT TRAVEL’ by the Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade – DFAT. Individual airlines are examining their own networks and routes and may decide to offer a credit for future travel not necessarily a refund.
  • If you intend to defer or amend bookings to other destinations (other than the countries shown above) amendment fees are likely to still apply.
  • If you have booked a cruise, domestic or otherwise and despite the Australian Governments advice on 10 March to reconsider travel, you need to be aware that this does not mean that the cruise line, regardless of the cruise operator will refund the cost of your cruise, unless you are outside the cancellation period. There are approximately 7 different cruise operators operating in the Australian market alone and each operator will make their own decisions on refunds/future cruise credits or temporary suspension of service. Unfortunately, there is no one answer to any questions you might have in relation to cruises.
  • Your decision to travel is ultimately a personal choice. The decision is one that you must make, based on your personal circumstances and all the information available to you. Ensure your information comes from an official and reliable source:

We ask that you bear in mind that this is all very new and unprecedented for us and the Travel Industry as a whole. DFAT Travel advisories, airlines, cruise lines and travel operators are changing and updating their policies daily. We thank you in advance for your co-operation in this matter during this period of heightened anxiety whilst we try to keep on top of everything coming through to us that demands our immediate attention.
